Exciting Updates to Google Local Service Ads

Reviews Moving to Google Business Profile (GBP)

What’s New?

  • Centralized Reviews: Going forward, all customer reviews will be collected directly through your Google Business Profile (GBP). This means streamlined reputation management, all in one place!
  • Transition of Current Reviews: By early 2025, any reviews on your LSA will also appear on your GBP, giving you double the visibility for reviews on both platforms.

Why This Change?

Connecting your LSA and GBP simplifies management and increases security, making it even easier for you to attract customers. Plus, after January 22, 2025, having a verified Google Business Profile will be a must for running LSAs.

What Should You Do?

If you’re with iMarket and using our LSA Management, sit back and relax! We’ll handle the review migration in early 2025. In the meantime, feel free to start using your GBP’s review request link and start building that online reputation. Need help setting up or optimizing your GBP? We’re here for you!

New LSA Category Alert – “Bathroom Remodeling”

What’s Changing?

Google is launching a brand-new industry category: Bathroom Remodeling! This will impact some services you may already offer through LSAs, like Shower Installations and Toilet Installs.

Why This Update?

Google’s goal is to better categorize services and improve customer experience. This adjustment may affect the leads you receive and could impact your cost per lead.

What You Need to Do

To keep receiving leads for these services, act within the next 90 days by:

  1. Opting into the Bathroom Remodeling category: Keep your leads coming!
  2. Uploading any required licenses: Google may ask for specific licenses for this new category. Don’t worry; we’re here to assist if needed.

As an iMarket client, you’ll have our full support during this transition. We will:

  • Closely monitor your LSA account to ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • Guide you through the opt-in and license requirements.
  • Optimize your campaigns to maximize ROI and lead quality.

Please help us make this transition seamless by providing any required licenses or certifications and responding to any important communication. Together, we’ll make sure you continue receiving top-quality leads!

Say Goodbye to the LSA Mobile App in January

What’s Changing?

As of January 6, 2025, Google will sunset the Local Services Ads mobile app. From then on, you’ll manage LSAs only via the website—on desktop or mobile.

Why This Shift?

After years of messaging from Google that to manage LSA you have to use the app for the best experience, Google has now phased out the app due to functionality issues, with the Android app already removed and iOS soon to follow. All campaign management will be web-based, offering a more stable and unified experience.

What You Need to Do

You’ll still get email or text notifications for leads, but you’ll respond via desktop. If you don’t have someone readily available on desktop, it may be wise to consider turning off the messaging feature. Have questions or need help? As always, the iMarket team is ready to support you in any adjustments!

These updates are all about helping your business operate more efficiently on Google and keeping your campaigns top-notch. We’re here to ensure you stay well-prepared, supported, and primed for success with Local Services Ads!
